probably a 'No.9 Union Hill' model circa 1884-91 with half octagonal, half round blued barrel, the top drilled and tapped for telescopic sight mounts (blanked off with screws), folding ring fore-sight, no provision for rear-sight, colour-hardened radiused receiver with dropping block and external hammer, the wrist fitted with an adjustable peep-sight, plain trigger, full-ring lever, chequered walnut pistol-grip butt-stock, plated crescent heel-plate and chequered walnut schnabel fore-end, much finish and colour remaining
